To qualify, creators must reach at least 500 subscribers, have at least three valid public uploads within the past 90 days, and meet one of the following: accrue 3,000 valid public watch hours on long-form content over the last year, or gather 3,000,000 valid public Shorts views in the preceding 90 days.

Application Process

Eligible creators can apply through YouTube Studio by selecting the ‘Earn’ tab. If you’re still working towards meeting these requirements, YouTube has provided a tracking feature to monitor your progress and offers the option to subscribe to email notifications for when you become eligible.

Once you’re part of the program, a wealth of features becomes accessible to support and amplify your channel’s growth. These perks include promoting merchandise via YouTube Shopping and several fan funding options such as Super Thanks, Super Chat, Super Stickers, and channel memberships. As your channel advances and you hit the higher eligibility thresholds—1,000 subscribers along with either 4,000 watch hours or 10 million Shorts views—you’ll gain additional income avenues through ad placements in your videos.
