Mastering YouTube’s End Screens and Cards for Channel Growth

In today’s Master Class, we dive into the effective use of YouTube’s End Screens and Cards, tools that can significantly enhance your channel’s performance. Anshul of Logical Baniya, an esteemed Indian creator known for his engaging animated educational stories, previously shared his expertise on utilizing Playlists in our series. Today, we will uncover how End Screens and Cards can increase your channel’s visibility and drive viewer engagement.

How End Screens Can Transform Viewer Engagement

End Screens are dynamic features you can add to the end of your videos to encourage viewers to subscribe or watch more content on your channel. With a range of template options like ‘2-video’ or ‘subscribe and a video’, you can recommend tailored content that keeps viewers engrossed in your channel’s offerings.

Anshul points out the efficacy of End Screens, as they appeal to viewers who have watched an entire video, signaling their interest in your content. It’s the perfect opportunity to engage these viewers further by suggesting additional videos or Playlists.

The Impact of Strategically Implemented End Screens

Highlighting the power of End Screens, Anshul notes that they account for around 5% of his monthly views, translating to a substantial 8 million views. It’s clear that these prompts at the end of videos are potent in guiding viewers to more of your content.

He recommends dedicating a few extra seconds at your video’s end to incorporate effective End Screens and urges creators to design visuals that captivate viewers, enticing them to stay within the channel’s content ecosystem.

Additionally, Anshul suggests incorporating playlists in your End Screens to boost average watch time by 1.35 times compared to individual videos, which can lead to increased viewer retention over a series of curated videos.

Capitalizing on Cards for Interactive Engagement

Moving on to Cards, these interactive features can be embedded in your videos to offer various functionalities, such as conducting polls, linking to other videos or playlists, and even directing viewers to external sites.

Anshul uses polls not just for engagement, asking viewers to solve puzzles, for example, but also to collect feedback about their content preferences, which can inform future video topics and themes.

Through the strategic use of End Screens and Cards, creators like Anshul are able to create a deeper connection with their audience while simultaneously driving their channel’s growth. These tools, when used effectively, are a game-changer for enhancing viewer experience and boosting your YouTube presence.
